- What Cookies are | Cookies (hereinafter also referred to as “cookies”) are IT data sent by a website and stored on users’ terminal devices such as computers, phones or tablets. Cookies most often take the form of text files. The data contained in Cookies make it possible to recognize the user’s device and display the website accordingly. Based on the information contained in cookies, the website will be adjusted to the technical specifications of your device. Thanks to this, it will be able to adapt its appearance to the screen size as well as the type and version of the web browser. Cookies also make it possible to personalize website functionalities according to the individual needs of users. For example, they allow a website to be displayed by default in a given user’s language. As a rule, cookies contain the name of the website they come from, the time for which they are stored on the terminal device, and a unique number.
- What cookies are used for | Below we present typical functionalities supported by information used through cookies.
- They provide data about the technical specifications of the terminal device – e.g. a computer, phone or tablet – in order to adapt the appearance of the website. Thanks to this, they function properly regardless of the type, model and version of the device and software used by the user.
- They make it possible to adapt website functionalities to the User’s needs. For example, they enable the selection of the preferred language, notifications or advertisements.
- They enable optimization of the way websites are used. They save information regarding the User’s choices in terms of advertising profiling, language settings, browser used, notifications, etc. Thanks to this, the User configures the website only once – instead of each time they revisit the website.
- They enable movement between subpages on websites without having to log in again on each subpage separately.
- They provide an additional layer of security preventing unauthorized persons from gaining access.
- They make it possible to collect statistical data on the basis of which administrators improve their websites. This may concern, for example, the amount of time spent on the site or the frequency with which users use various functionalities. Information collected in this way is then used to improve the structure and content of websites.
- In some cases, Cookies facilitate the identification of a User whose behavior shows signs of prohibited acts.
- They provide data helping to ensure refined and smooth operation of websites. For example, they enable traffic analysis and the detection of anomalies such as distributed denial-of-service attacks (so-called DDoS attacks).
- They make it possible to deliver personalized advertising. They collect statistics regarding the User’s interaction with displayed advertisements, purchase history and search history. On this basis, advertisements for products and services with a greater chance of attracting the user’s attention may be displayed.

In some cases, however, they may enable the identification of a user – this applies, for example, to cookies remembering login or payment details. Hotjar records every visitor to the Service and makes it possible to replay a video recording of their movement on our Service, as well as generate so-called heat maps. Within the Hotjar tool, the Controller does not have access to information that would allow the User to be identified, because Hotjar does not record the process of filling in forms. The information we have access to within Hotjar includes, in particular: information about the operating system and web browser used by the User, the subpages viewed within our Service, the time spent on our Service and its subpages, transitions between individual subpages within our Service, the source from which the User comes to our Service, and the places clicked with the mouse. In order to use Hotjar, the Controller has implemented special Hotjar tracking code in the Service code. The tracking code uses cookies from Hotjar Limited. The information collected within cookies is stored by Hotjar as part of a pseudonymous user profile. This means that neither Hotjar nor the Controller uses this information to identify the User. You may object to Hotjar creating your user profile, storing information about your use of our Service, and using Hotjar cookies here: www.hotjar.com/legal/compliance/opt-out. More details related to data processing within Hotjar are available in Hotjar’s privacy policy at: www.hotjar.com/legal/policies/privacy.

The SalesManago tool uses the following data: (i) IP address from which the visitor connects to the Service – it is assigned to a specific country, voivodeship and locality. With a high probability, this makes it possible to indicate from which locality the User comes; (ii) data obtained from the HTTP/HTTPS protocol – information about the browser and operating system, the source of entry to the Service, information about searched phrases. The tool is also used to send the Newsletter to Users who have subscribed. More information on the rules of personal data processing can be found in the provider’s privacy policy available at: https://www.salesmanago.pl/info/obowiazek-informacyjny.htm.
